Salvage Spare Finder

Filed under: salvage — admin @ 1:56 am

Salvage yards are more than places just to scrap your car, they often auction or sell modern cars that have been involved in an accident or flood that in the right hands be repaired economically and put back on the road. Of course not all salvage projects are the same and history shows many people losing money after buying a money pit.  There is a site called salvage spare finder that will allow you to research thousands of salvage cars that are for sale in the UK at any time.  It is not as easy to research salvage as normal vehicles because each car will have a unique amount of damage done to it and need its own set of car parts to repair.

This is a large site where in fact none of the salvage cars are being sold by themselves. They are in fact brokers for the several salvage auction yards throughout the country, but an excellent resource to look through and compare makes, models and types of accident damage. Buyers need to be aware of the costs to repair such vehicles, it is true that makes like Mercedes, BMW and Audi are the top make to repair, but it is equally trues that these cars can cost a fortune to repair, especially if some work needs to be done by the local dealer and some used car parts can be very hard to get and a premium needs to be paid.

But in the right hands, many do repair such car salvage an make good money from it.

What happens once your scrap car is taken away at the end of its life.

Filed under: used car parts — admin @ 8:47 am

What happens once your scrap car is taken away at the end of its life? At the End of Life. the transfer of ownership of a vehicle, from the owner requires some important documentation to be issued, such as the Intent of Destruction certificate. Once this is issued, the car will be relocated to an Authorised Treatment Facility (ATF) and dismantled for parts or crushed.

Using modern, environmentally friendly methods to perform the scrap car will be de-polluted with industrial strength interceptors used to collect any liquids still in the vehicle. After this all liquid is pumped into efficient oil separation tanks where the oil will be drained away and stored in compliance with government Hazardous Disposal legislation before being disposed of by a 3rd party specialist.

Once your mot failures bought scrap car has been harvested for any usable parts or scrap metal and all glass and plastics have been separated for recycling it will be prepared for bailing (crushing) all of the firms that we work with carry and proudly display the Recycling Compliance Seal.

Upon completion of the scrapping process you will receive a notification from the DVLA confirming that they have received the vehicle logbook, always make sure that you have the correct documentation before your vehicle is taken away as fines can be levied for failure to produce scrappage documents when requested. Any further documentation such as the ELV and Destruction certificate you should receive within 30 days of disposal.

Scrap Car v WeBuyAnyCar.com

Filed under: used car parts — admin @ 3:41 am

Online vehicle firm Webuyanycar.com has been rapped by industry watchdogs for its inflated valuations of vehicles.

The site which is famous for its TV marketing campaign was contacted by the The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) after it was found that only 4% of customers were getting the original valuation of their vehicle and that inspectors were told to cut prices by over 25% as part of their targets. The OFT said:

“Consumers were given the impression that they would be paid the online valuation if the company’s onsite inspection matched the condition entered by the seller online. But once at the appointment, some customers found other factors reduced the price."

Webuyanycar has responded saying that in the “early days” they “didn’t get it right for every single customer” however the firm, who have made a profit of £5 million so far this year did agree that they would implement a four point strategy to try and prevent any confusion happening the future.

It’s also been alleged that the firm also took advantage of the DVLA’s V14 form that allows customers to receive a refund on their unused car tax by reducing the price offered depending on the amount of tax owed back.

The firm is one of the many scrap car firms that have popped up offering users cash for their vehicle, firms that pay for old vehicles ro be collected work with a network of registered breakers and scrap yards to get the best deal for you.

A recently implemented online auction section of the site also allows potential buyers to bid on your vehicle, getting you the best price available.

Cars Get Cleaner Thanks To Scrap Car Initiative

Filed under: used car parts — admin @ 7:56 am

Statistics have been released showing that the average CO2 emissions of vehicles has reduced by almost 5%.

Experts believe the reason behind the drop is the popularity of smaller cars that were bought during the governments scrappage scheme in mid-2009. Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), Paul Everitt said:

“Continued vehicle manufacturer efforts to improve fuel efficiency and cut emissions have further reduced average CO2 output during a better-than-anticipated first half of 2010.
‘The remainder of the year is set to be challenging, especially now the scrappage scheme has ended.”

Two of the highest selling cars during the scrappage period was the Hyundai i10 and Kia Picanto both of which offer low emissions and good fuel economy

Since the scheme ended car scrapping has experienced a huge increase with a huge number of companies popping up and offering to scrap your car for cash. A system that brings buyers and sellers together is unique as it offers both money and free vehicle collection, unlike competitors who usually only offer one. Hundreds of requests come through the system ranging from BMW to Ford and a newly implemented online auction site could mean a better deal for you when scrapping.

Scrap car has established itself in a network of online automotive companies who have over 5 years authority within the industry. Working with only licensed breakers and scrap yards also means that you can rest assured that your vehicle will be disposed of correctly in an economical and environmentally friendly way.

Clamp and Scrap For No Insurance

Filed under: used car parts — admin @ 5:15 am

Motorists who fail to renew their insurance face having their vehicle clamped in their driveway or in the worst case scrapped.

‘Clamp And Scrap’ powers will be given to the DVLA as the government launches a fresh wave of attack against uninsured drivers.

Ministers have however denied this saying that un-insured drivers will be hit with a fine of £100 and be given a suitable number of warnings before the vehicle is clamped. Fines can be avoided by issuing an off the road declaration in similar vein to road tax.

Scrapping  has always been the preferred choice of authorities when punishing owners for breaking laws and parking rules. However this has since transported over to the public domain in recent years.

The trend of scrapping cars is growing rapidly, with people now scrapping vehicles willingly for cash rather than selling them. Scrapping is often quicker and easier than finding a buyer for a vehicle and since the government brought scrapping to the forefront of peoples minds in 2009 it has become big business.

This old vehicle buying service works with a nationwide network of breakers and scrap yards to find customers the best options when scrapping their vehicle. All firms within the network are fully accredited by local councils and environmental agencies so you can rest assured that it will be disposed of correctly following all EU legislations and any required certification will be issued.

Teesside Advised To Expand Trade Links With China Further

Filed under: used car parts — admin @ 8:37 am

Teesside is being urged to take trading with China to the next level and tap into the countries automotive industry success.

Teesside and the North East are already the region that do the most trade with industrial powerhouse in the UK. Firms in the region have been working with the world’s 2nd largest economy for years in the chemical and computer games sector.

This year owners of the Wilton site Sembcorp opened their first wastewater treatment plant in south China and said that plans for further expansions were already underway.

The Chinese auto industry has grown tenfold over the past couple of years and as of 2010 was producing 18.06 million vehicles every year, a growth of 17 .06 million in just 19 years.

Chinese produced vehicles are already on the road in Britain as the likes of Ford, VW, Fiat and Honda all have production plants located in the country.

The introduction of new vehicles leaves a potential headache for people who cannot sell their old vehicle, a lot of scrap firms do not offer any financial compensation for your vehicle and some even charge you to have it taken away.

Entering a term such as cash for vehicles Middlesbrough or free vehicle collection Teesside into Google is all it takes to get an idea of the options available. Remember when scrapping a vehicle strict EU and Environmental Agency guidelines. All vehicles must be issued with an End of Vehicle Life certificate (ELV) after being scrapped to prove that they have been disposed of correctly and not dumped, a practise that costs the UK taxpayer millions every year.

Longer Warranties Likely In Used Car Market

Filed under: used car parts — admin @ 8:34 am

LongerWarrantiesCarSpareFinder

The used car market is likely to to move towards offering longer warranties as standard says industry experts The Warranty Group.

The company believe that adding a longer warranty will make the used car buying experience as close as possible to buying a new car, especially when purchasing from manufacturers.

Studies have already found that a majority of people were already taking out longer warranties at an extra cost when buying used cars.

Ian Simpson, sales and marketing director at The Warranty Group said:

“The continuing shortage of used cars and the resulting increase in prices mean that buyers are, effectively, getting less for more.”

Adding:

“As a result, dealers of all kinds are having to look at ways of making their used car proposition more attractive and increased warranty provision is one solution.”

Analysts believe that if this is implemented it may , over time raise the level of expectation when buying a used car.

If you find your vehicle is not under warranty and face massive costs from dealers to replace parts then looking at second hand parts might be an option.

Services such as CarSpareFinder operate a part finder service which searches a network of dealers and car breakers to offer you a number of quotes on the part you need.

You can then choose which dealer you go with based on either price, location or even just personal preference.

The money saved can be huge, for example a spare engine taken from a breakers yard can cost over 50% less than dealing directly with a dealer. All that’s needed is help in finding these gems.
