The normal principle of controlling business politics is to vote for the party that will give your type of business the best opportunities going forward. There will be many in the auto industry who would have studied the relevant manifestos and voted for the party they felt would help their part of the motor industry for the next 5 years. However the reality looks something totally different as no one has won this weeks hard fought election.
So as we wait for some sort of coalition between the parties, we all sit here and wonder what the future holds for the auto industry, form the factories up and down the UK who turn out thousands of cars each week for owners throughout the world, to the salesmen who sell the cars in the hope that the consumer has the confidence to commit to such a large purchase, right though to the car lease market, where business owners are wondering if this is the best time to commit to the financial commitment of a contract hire agreement.
The bickering and uncertainty on TV is not helping confidence throughout any market, never mind the auto market. It is no secret that the success of other markets and confidence fuels the auto market, with a car purchase often being the second largest anyone will make over their home.
